Although appearing to be an unassuming osteria, in the five years since it's inception Oliva Nera has gained a well deserved reputation for serving outstanding modern Venetian cuisine produced by its Japanese chef. A radical concept in conservative Venice, but one which definitely works.. The hosts are attentive and deserving of all the attention they've received in the press, don't miss this one!

This is one of our favourite restaurants in this very cool area. Make sure you've worked up an appetite during the day because the food here is superb, as is the wine. The decor is fairly simple and they generally have jazz playing while you eat. Highly recommended but make sure you book before, to avoid disappointment.
